A heavy earthquake (8.0 magnitude) happened in Wenchuan county, Sichuan Province at May 12^th 2008 which injured many people with many people lost their lives and many building collapsed. The Korea Association for Laboratory Animal Science (KALAS) sponsored a donation among Korea colleagues during May 22-23 2008 of the KALAS annual meeting and collected ten thousands RMB to the disaster areas.

During Sep. 27-29 2008, Dr. Jong-Koo Kang, president of KALAS transferred the donation to Dr. Qin Chuan, vice president and secretary general of Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences (CALAS) on the AFLAS committee conference to the disaster areas through Red Cross Society of China. CALAS has submitted the money to the account of Red Cross Society of China. CALAS hereby thanks to KALAS and all the colleagues for their kind friendship.
